A Poem for Lucky
Special Friend
We lost a special friend today
the kind you can't replace
and looking at his empty bed
we still can see his face.
We see the endless energy
the sweet sparkling eyes
Not the tired, fragile friend
We had to bid goodbye.
We know he's in a special place
our Lord has for such friends,
Where meadows, fields & flowers
help make them strong and whole again.
We've noticed in the recent times
His ears were not as sharp,
Where is that running ball of fur
The years had shown their mark.
Our Lucky was a special dog
We know he gave his best,
But as we looked deep into his eyes
We knew it was time for him to rest.
It will truly be a struggle
I don't know how we'll face each day,
So with our very special friend
We send our prayers his way.
We know he'll watch over us
He'll be with us when we cry,
So with one more kiss on his beloved head
Grambug told our Lucky Dog goodbye.
Thank you Lucky - we love you and we will always miss you!

For Valentine's Day I had a girls night out. I went with my mom, my sisters (Kathleen & Angela) , Mary, Lily (their cousin), and Katie to see Peter Pan at the Missouri Theatre in St. Joseph. What a blast we had! My sister, Kathleen, captured Mary and Lily meeting Captain Hook up close and personal. All the girls did such a good job paying attention during the performance. Now Mary and Kate run around the house singing the Peter Pan song "I don't want to grow up" - I may come to regret their enthusiasm if they are still singing that at 32.
