Grandbug and Grandpa Jerry visit St. Joe

Mary and baby Kate spent the last eight days with their Grandbug and Grandpa Jerry from Colorado. Mary loved her walks with Grandpa and loved her new dress from Grandug. All the help with baby Kate was much appreciated. It is always hard to say good-bye to our families who we miss every second of every day. So instead of good-bye we'll just say we can't wait to see you at Christmas! p.s. Mary sends a great big "ouch" to Grandpa Jerr!

Fall fashion wear

Mary had an epiphany while lounging on the front lawn with daddy. She thinks that leg warmers (in the form of daddy's tube socks) are going to make a huge comeback this fall. We will have to wait and see if our little trendsetter is right!

Katie is growing like a weed!

d We had our two week well check for Katie on Monday. She now weighs 9 pounds and eight ounces! She has grown by two pounds and two inches since coming home two and a half weeks ago. Grandma said that she was changing right before our eyes, I just didn't know how much. The doctor said that Kate looks great and all newborn screenings were normal. Beautiful words to hear for any new mommy and daddy!

Mary time

Since bringing home baby Kate both mommy and daddy have tried to spend some alone time with Mary Mackenzie. She has been a real trooper and has been a big helper girl so far!

Life is good!

When Mary isn't busy reading the latest Hollywood gossip while she potty trains, she is teaching her new sister, Kate, the latest fashion trends in hat wear.

Sisterly Love

Mary and Kate are having a ball getting to know eachother. Mary loves to help take care of new baby Katie. All of our worries about the transition seem to have been unnecessary. In fact, seeing Mary's joy over her sister has been one of the most wonderful things we have experienced as parents. She insists on being front and center for all baby activities. Mary did have to take a break to attend a birthday party for her friend, Miguel. So far Kate has been a very good baby. She has her days and nights mixed up but we are told this will work itself out in time. Today is a sad day because we had to say good-bye to Grandma Meyer who has made Katie's first two weeks at home peaceful and fun despite the sleep deprivation. We will miss her terribly but we know that we will see her soon. We can't thank her enough for all that she has done!

Katherine (Katie) Grace Kissock Has Arrived!

Guest Writer: Aunt Angela

I am proud to announce the arrival of Ms. Katherine (Katie) Grace Kissock! She was surprisingly born on June 9, 2006 at 6:12 in the morning, after Suzanne's water broke at approximately 1 a.m. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, she is tiny compared to her sister, Mary Mackenzie, who weighed an astonishing 9 pounds, 6 ounces at her birth.

Suzanne is doing very well, especially since she had no epidural!!! That is right folks, she had the closest thing to a natural birth as humanly possible. She was informed during hard labor that her platelet count was low and because of this would be unable to get an epidural. Although she was obviously shocked at first, Suzanne handled it very well, and now we have a new beautiful, healthy baby in the family. We are so proud of her!

Mary the Explorer!

In honor of her hero, Dora the Explorer, Mary went exploring the wonders and mysteries of a tree house. She had a great time unless any other child tried to join her. Eventually, Mary realized that sharing her treehouse could be fun as long as she was the top monkey.

Mary basks in the glow of attention from Grandma and Grandpa

Tim, Mary, and I had a surprise weekend visit from Grandma and Granda Meyer in Februrary. Mary could not have been happier to have them all to herself before little sister arrives in June.

Cousin Lily and family

What a wonderful weekend we had meeting Miss Lily for the first time and attending her Naming Ceremony.

Lily's Naming Ceremony

We had a wonderful gathering at the Ethical Society in St. Louis for cousin Lily's Naming Ceremony. Each person made a personal dedication to Lily by dropping a stone into her wishing well and saying their special wish just for her.

Mary learns the poker strategies from Great Grandpa

Mary had a fun filled weekend when Grandma and Great Grandpa came to visit her in St. Joseph. She spent most of the time playing with Grandma in her playroom and learning the finer art of poker playing from Great Grandpa.

Congratulations to Eleanor - the 2005 Zugu Champion!

Christmas 2005 in St. Louis

Zach, Angela, and Mary at Grandma's house for the Christmas holidays.

Mary's First Snowfall!!

Mary Mackenzie had so much fun over Thanksgiving visiting with her cousins Kyle,
Ethan, and Hank (the dog). Here are just a few special moments spent at Thanksgiving 2005.

Saturday, December 31, 2005

Mary takes her twelth flight as we head to Dayton, Ohio, for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Mommy, Daddy, and Mary had a wonderful time visiting Ethan, Kyle, Kelly, Gretchen, and Hank. It was a white Thanksgiving in Dayton but it didn't stop us from visiting the Wright Brothers Museum and the Air Force Museum.

Halloween Hoopla!

Our Mary Mackenzie was a little lion for Halloween. We had a absolutely wonderful time trick or treating. Initially, Mary didn't understand the concept of taking candy so she kept putting the candy back in the candy dish of those we visited. Around the fourth house she figured out that she could nab a sucker from those bowls so she got the swing of things and began returning the chocolate treats that she was given for a sucker that she recognized. She was having a great time until she got distracted when she saw our neighbor, Kyle, with his mommy. Mary insisted that we follow Kyle the rest of the night - even going to homes that we had already visited. Kyle is eighteen months old and Mary is quite smitten with him. (I think this is the Eleanor coming out in Mary - boy crazy at fourteen months!)

Uncle Bill visits St. Joe

Mary Mackenzie loves when Uncle Bill comes to visit!
